The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today. By H. Jackson Brown
Grade 3 students learned about different careers available to them when they grow up. We discussed the more well-known jobs such as pilot, server (not waiter) and barber. The class also talked about some jobs from long ago such as smith, miller and fletcher. For an extra challenge, they learned about different types of doctors such as the hard-to-pronounce otorhinolaryngologist and the funniest type of doctor of all; the proctologist. At the end of Career Week, there was an in-class game show to see how much they remembered. The class was split into three teams and each team tried their best to answer most questions correctly. Hopefully, by learning about some hard-to-pronounce job, it challenged them to work in that area when they become adults.
